Reia heard the sound of someone landing about 5 meters behind her. "This is turning into quite the party," she thought. She turned to look at the newcomer, and saw a young military police officer. "Lance Corporal Ernest Novek of the Military Police Brigade, Hermiha division. We saw the commotion from on top of Wall Sina. Do you need any help?"

"Oh, so the military police has descended from on high to help us fight titans?" she scoffed to herself. Then she began to think on his offer. The white-haired cadet and that creepy little civilian were hurt badly. They would have to be carried to the wall. And if she and Luke were each carrying one of them, they wouldn't be able to fight the titans they were bound to encounter along the way. She gave Lance Corporal Ernest a once-over. "Well, he seems sincere enough. Maybe this one isn't so bad."

She introduced herself, "Reia Britannia of the Survey Corps, Special Ops." Then, nodding toward the girl and her companion, "These two are hurt badly. We need to get them over the wall and to a doctor. They'll need to be carried. If you and Luke," she gestured to her comrade, "take care of that, I can keep the titans off your back."

Suddenly, she heard the familiar thump of a titan's foot, followed by another, and another, and another. It was getting closer. Too close. "We need to get off the ground, now," she said, just as the titan's head appeared over a house about nine meters from where they were standing. "Oh boy, it's a big one..."

The titan crashed through the building and was now quickly making its way to the spot where their little group was gathered. In a few moments, they would all be trampled, or worse. "Grab them!" she yelled to Luke and Ernest as she took off in the direction of the 15-meter titan.

"Son of a bitch!" Ernest swore as a 15-meter titan poked it's head over a building.  Ernest had never been a particularly agile man, and it showed in his style of using the 3DMG.  Lots of direct and simple swings, with few complex maneuvers (barring a few he had taught himself).  He made up for his lack of dexterity in strength.  The Lance Corporal grabbed both Namara and Shiro, throwing them over his shoulders in a rather unceremonious manner.  He took off running away from the titan. ("Not because I'm a coward, they're just injured..." He thought.)  The boy was about as heavy as a sack of potatoes, which was normal for someone his age.  The girl seemed oddly light. "Probably just needs a good meal." He thought again.  

Ernest fired both hooks towards the wall of a house, reeling himself- and consequentially, the two injured ones- to the wall, a meter below the roof.  "Not saying either of you are fat or anything, but could you try and climb onto the roof? It'd really make my life easier at the moment."

Reia ran directly toward the titan. As it reached its hand down to grab her, she launched her 3DMG at a wall and zipped out of the way at the last moment. As she ascended to the roof, the titan turned to follow her. It brought its arm down to crush her, but Reia was faster. She jumped out of the way, then fired her hooks into the back of the monster's neck. She spun into the weak spot, just as she had seen her captain do so many times. Her blades slashed through their target, and Reia landed on a nearby rooftop as the creature's body fell to the ground.

"Nine," she whispered. Trost was doing wonders for her kill count.

She looked around for the others. Ernest was on a rooftop about 35 meters off with both the girl and the boy. She didn't see Luke anywhere. What she did see was two more titans, an eight-meter and a ten-meter, approaching Ernest from the west. There was another, about thirteen meters tall, approaching from the South. It didn't look like any of them had seen her comrades yet, which was a blessing.

She then scanned the path to Wall Rose. As of right now, it was clear, but who knew how long that would last? "If we hurry, we might make it back without having to engage any more of them," she thought.

Reia made her way over to the rest of the group. "What happened to Luke?" she asked.

"The other boy? I thought he got out!" Ernest told Reia. The two injured scouts on his shoulders were beginning to feel heavier by the second. And two large titans were apporaching. The stupid things hadn't spotted him yet, so that was good. He heaved himself, and the two of them, up onto the house's roof. He gently set down the injured soldiers.

"You two stay right here. I'm just gonna catch my breath, maybe I'll have to kill a titan, but in just a minute I'll have you on top of Wall Sina, and then probably in a hospital." He reassured them. He spotted the green unicorn insignia of the Military Police. One of his men. The boy looked no older than 15. And he was dangling limply from the mouth of the 13 meter titan that was approaching from the south.

Orchid stared at her comrade dangling from the mouth of the Titan, calmly reloading her blades.
"Orders, sir?"
She called out to the Lance Corporal, ready to attack at a moment's notice.
She didn't care that it had eaten the boy, but the stupid thing had caught her in a bad mood, and she was ready to relieve stress after being chewed out by the Commander earlier that week.

"Kill it!  I'll keep the bastard distracted!"  He told the female soldier who called out for orders.  Sparing one last glance towards the two injured soldiers, he leaped from the roof, firing one hook into the monster's chest.  He swung around it in a wide arc, leaving a semicircle trail of white gas residue.  When he was behind it, he didn't go for the nape.  Instead, Ernest continued back around to the front, reeling himself in to the titan's face.  He stabbed it in the eyes, his blades going in all the way to the hilts.  He released the blades, leaving them lodged in the titan's eyes as he flew backwards to avoid it's retaliation.  "Now! Kill it!" He ordered Orchid.
"They will never be allowed to reach the interior, as long as I'm here to guard against them! No matter their size, no matter their numbers, they will not advance!" The Lance Corporal thought as he kept the titan's dead-eyed gaze on himself.

"The other boy? I thought he got out!" Reia looked around again for Luke, but she didn't see him anywhere. Where would he go?" she wondered silently.

Reia heard Ernest say something to the others. She turned to discuss a plan with him, but stopped when she saw the look on his face. She had seen that look too many times before on the faces of her comrades. Following his gaze, she saw a young boy in a military police uniform dangling from the mouth of a titan. He was dead.

She went over to where the white-haired girl lay and reached down to pick her up. Ernest may be strong, but he couldn't carry both of them all the way to the wall. She stopped when she heard a girl's voice call out, "Orders, sir?" The voice came from the direction of the thirteen-meter titan. Reia followed the sound and saw a young girl in a military police uniform.

Ernest ordered the girl to kill it as he raced over to distract it. "Great," Reia thought. "They've certainly noticed us now." She debated going to help the MPs, but decided against it. The injured girl and boy shouldn't be left alone, especially with the other titans closing in. So Reia stood and watched, hoping that Ernest wouldn't let his emotions get in his way.

Orchid nodded and fired her hooks into a nearby building, swinging as far to the side of the Titan as possible. She concentrated, knowing that one false step would leave her a splat on the wall.She turned and shot into the back of it's neck, boosting with a hiss and a trail of gas.
She spun to gain momentum as she glided, slicing her blades through the monster's nape.
She landed on a rooftop, the impact momentarily jarring her before she brushed a lock of hair out of her face.
"Target neutralized."
She stated calmly, reloading her blades.

Ernest's arc of motion reached it's peak as the titan fell. His momentum carried him up high into the sky, and he landed on the same roof as Orchid. "Excellent kill, soldier." He said, before looking back towards the roof where he had left the injured.
"There's two injured scouts on that roof. Once the area's clear of titans, we'll get them onto Wall Sina, then to a hospital."
He scanned the area. The first thing to catch his eye was a 10-meter titan lumbering in from the west. "10-meter titan, to the west. You want the kill again?" He asked Orchid. He was impressed by the girl's skills. Most recruits with moves like that were joining the Scouts. The Military Police had been seeing a lack of recruits for the longest time, and few of the ones who did join were skilled. They had come looking for an easy life in the interior.

Orchid cleared her throat.
"With all due respect, sir, we should leave the injured. They will only hamper our chances."
It wasn't her fault some idiotic Scouts had gotten themselves hurt, and she didn't want to risk her neck carrying them back.
It was a waste of her time.

That was certainly an... uncommon opinion amongst the military. Although on the other hand, that did explain Orchid's seeming lack of emotion when she fought the 13-meter titan. She was one of those people who only cared for their own survival, not anyone else.

"I have to disagree. They live, that's two more soldiers to fight against the titans. And believe me, we need everyone we can get." He said.

The sound of a heavy footfall reminded him of the approaching giant. "Questions of morality aside, there's a bigger issue. I'll keep it''s attention again, you take it down." Ernest told her. He swung from the roof, flying low to the ground. He shot around it's legs, cutting the achilles tendon on the back of the feet. The titan fell onto it's hands and knees, leaving the nape wide open. "Go now!" He called out. The thing would regenerate soon, and time was always of the essence.

Another titan descended upon the MPs. They didn't have much time. The titans were closing in. If they wanted to go, it had to be now. "Ernest!" Reia called. "We need to go, now! The path to the wall is clear, but not for much longer. "

At least with a third person, they would be able to have a guard while they carried the injured to the wall. The girl didn't look very strong, but clearly she had some skill with blades. Perhaps she could keep the titans off them while she and Ernest carried the others to the wall. Reia picked up the white-haired girl and waited.

Orchid frowned and nodded, shooting above the Titan, and coming down onto it's nape, carving out a chunk.
She looked back at Ernest, and noticed a Scout holding an injured.
"Hmm. Are you ready to move? I'm not here to babysit you."
She glared at the woman, resenting her for making her wait in this place.

Ernest saw the kill. Another great one. He landed on the roof next to Reia and picked up the boy in civilian's clothes. "Orchid!" He said over his shoulder. "Watch our backs while we get them to the wall! You see anything big, naked, and stupid, kill it!"

With that, he began the dangerous journey towards Wall Sina. Using the 3DMG was tough, but with a passsenger? You were a sitting duck for any titan that walked up. Hopefully, Orchid would be able to prevent any from ever walking up.

Reia shot a glare at the girl. This was why she didn't like the MPs. They thought they were above everything and everyone. Thankfully, she wouldn't have to deal with them much longer, provided they got out of here quickly.

"I believe I'm the one who's been waiting on you. Now stow the crap and watch our backs. Hopefully we'll make it to the wall without running into any more of them." With that, she took off toward the wall with Ernest by her side.

Orchid grunted and flew through the air behind the two, her green eyes searching the city around her.
She spotted a three meter below them; ignored it. No danger at the moment.
Her head looked up to see a five meter reaching for the Scout; one boost and sword flash later, and the Titan fell.
"You're welcome."
She muttered, dropping back to cover them.
Hopefully they would make it there soon.

The wall was within hook range. Now began the long climb. There was no fast way to go about climbing the wall from the outside, not with an injured scout over your shoulder. ("Well, maybe that white haired girl. She barely weighs a thing." Ernest thought)
The only way was to fire a hook in, reel yourself up, fire another one up higher, release the first, and repeat. It took a long time, but eventually, the soldiers reached the top. Ernest laid down the injured boy, and soon lay down himself. At last, a moment of peace.

The girl took out a 5-meter that had been reaching for Reia. "At least she's not selfish enough to abandon us," she thought.

Reia reached the wall without a problem. She began the long climb up as fast as she could, but it was still slow-going with the girl on her back, even if she was light. She glanced to her right and saw Ernest climbing the wall too. They were almost to the top, but now was not the time to celebrate. They weren't in the clear yet.

Orchid scowled as she saw the other two reach the wall, and begin a very slow climb.
She landed below them, making sure to be hooked in and watching their backs.
"Idiots." She muttered. "If we'd left the damn wounded, we'd be in Rose right now."
Sometimes, she swore she was the only rational one left.
She even considered just abandoning them, like her squad in Trost.
But she decided to wait just a little longer.

Ernest looked out over the edge of the wall. The two women were climbing up at a steady pace. "Come on, both of you. We're out. There's no titan that can reach us now." He said. Unless that big one that had kicked open shiganshina appeared. But that was incredibly unlikely. This was a small triumph, but he could enjoy it while it lasted.

Reia breathed a sigh of relief as she reached the top of the wall. Ernest was there, waiting. She gently set the girl down and turned to check the MP's progress. She was close.

A garrison soldier ran over to her. "Get this one to a doctor. She's badly injured," She glanced over to the boy Ernest was carrying. "That one, too," she said as she gestured to him. The soldier nodded and ran off to get help.

Reia turned and scanned the city. Trost was in shambles. She looked for her squad, her friends, her captain, but it was no use. The city was vast. If they were still there, there wasn't much of a chance that she would spot them from here.

Orchid noticed the other two made it, and quickly got up the wall, grunting in greeting.
She scoffed and shook her head as the Scout got the injured attention. If it was up to her, they'd just leave the bastards to bleed.
"Where to next, sir?"
She growled, annoyed at the entire situation.

"I don't know." He told Orchid. Ernest walked over to stand next to Reia. He had known the girl for only a few minutes, but he felt a sort of connection already. "Are you going back down there?" He asked her.

Reia was lost in thoughts of her comrades. Were they alright? Were they safe? It was stupid. Of course they were. They were Special Ops, after all, the famous Levi Squad. They could handle anything. However, as much as people thought that she didn't care, Reia couldn't help but worry about the well-being of her friends...and her captain. Suddenly she was pulled back to reality by Ernest's voice, "Are you going back down there?"

Reia nodded. "I have to find my squad. Captain Levi is going to kill me for getting separated from them. You wouldn't happen to know where they are, would you?" she asked.

Orchid huffed.
They'd just gotten OUT of that place, and this Scout wanted to go back in?!
Huh. They WERE suicidal.
But the MP knew her place, and waited for orders from Earnest.
